The 10 Procurement blogs to read

Blogs are considered as an up-to-date source of information. I read them to expand my knowledge, but as well to find out the latest discussions and trends. In the procurement knowledge world, there are several excellent ones. Here is my top 10.

The blog I write has a mission to help people new in the procurement world to learn the basic language, theories, and concepts. In the future, we may dig deeper into subjects and address more the latest news and concepts. Until then, here are blogs I read and from where I draw a lot of practical advice.

Procurement leaders blog

Besides having a great page which is a part of my “top 11 procurement-related pages” article you can read here; they have a great blog. Delivering posts from multiple authors weekly, this blog delivers discussion around the latest procurement trends. Here you will find multiple articles around the impact of COVID-19 on the procurement, and as well talks on innovations in procurement.

 Strategic Sourceror

This is a large collection of texts on almost any procurement related topic. They are nicely organized by topic, so you can find what is interesting to you. The site does not have a classic structure of a blog, with the chronological flow of articles, but rather looks like a web page. However, they post articles daily so it is always up to date. Following only them will give you enough material to spend about an hour every day.

 Wax digital

This blog covers a wider area of topics, not strictly about procurement only. Still, it is procurement related. So, if you want to read how to effectively work from home, time management or keep your team engaged this is the blog for you. There are as well topics around e-procurement, COVID and the latest procurement-related trends.

 Procurement Insights

This blog tends to dive deep into a subject in his articles. What I do not like but you maybe love is that many posts lead either to a podcast or video on YouTube. The author is a blogging veteran, so you have as well many blog posts around procurement in the archive that may be interesting. The focus is a bit more around the US / Canada area.

 

Xoom works

The company behind the blog deals with digital procurement transformation. Naturally, the topics of the articles are about topics related to digital procurement. Also, you will be able to find blueprints for transforming different procurement processes. Articles are not very long, but straight to the point. And quite practical as well.

 SCMdojo

The person behind this blog, dr. Muddassir is one of the most active Supply Chain professionals I know. You will find a blog, podcast and Youtube channel, all about Supply Chain. He covers the complete end-to-end Supply Chain, not only procurement. You can find articles around warehousing, Kaizen, inventory, and S&OP. For Supply Chain Managers, this is a place to go.

 Procurement Heads 

Most of the blog posts on this page are interviews with procurement professionals. Hence if you want to hear stories of high-level procurement leaders, this is the place to go. Other stories cover more UK and European related topics, as this is a UK based web page.

 Sourcing Innovation

Sourcing innovation blog discusses current affairs in procurement and Supply Chain. At this point in times, you will find numerous articles around COVID-19, disruption of supply chains and work from home. They do not post very often, but every post is worth the time spent to read it.

Procurify

The Procurify blog cover besides procurement as well as finance topics. Procurement topics are around processes and a couple of good case studies. Also, they have a podcast called Spend culture. This blog/podcast blend becomes quite common now with many.

Last, but not least. I have mentioned as well Procurious in my list of top 10 procurement-related web pages. As they have several authors, the topics vary and are published almost daily. So I am very sure that you will find something interesting to read, whether it is around procurement career, news or technical procurement.
